We got married!
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
— proverbs 13:12

the party…
A small intimate gathering of family and friends in Virginia, September 4th, to celebrate the happy couple while they are in the USA. Arrive around 5:30pm and enjoy yard games before the 6pm ceremony. A true backyard soirée, we will have dancing, hors d'oeuvres, drinks and a good time. Plan to toast the couple, dance with kids, lose to Jenn at corn hole and generally make memories. A virtual broadcast will also be available during the ceremony and exchanging of vows for those unable to make the party… password, “celebrate”.
registry & donations
Jenn and Claude will return to Goma in the fall to continue their local efforts of teaching forgiveness and working to change social stigmas. Your friendship and well wishes are gift enough, but if you would like to send a gift please consider making a donation to the ministry. Some gifts are beneficial to receive here in the USA and check in their luggage. However, many items are easier to buy in Congo such as glassware, silverware, dinner ware, towels, pots and pans, water dispenser, iron, microwave and other household appliances.

We thank you for all your love and support as we begin the great adventure of marriage

FAQs
What is the best airport?
The absolute best airport is the Newport News/ Williamsburg airport (PHF). This is a 15 minute drive from the house. However, Norfolk International Airport (ORF) and Richmond International Airport (RIC) are also about an hour away, depending on traffic.
How do I get around if I fly in?
All three airports listed above have the usual car rental companies available. Uber and Lyft are also readily available.
What should I wear to this backyard soirée?
We invite you to dress as fancy or free as you like! Jenn & Claude are going glam. (no sweatpants please). We’ve been stuck in our houses for a LONG time, this is a great excuse to wear sequins if you want, or don’t. If you are more comfortable including a mask with your outfit, feel free to do so.
Where do you recommend I stay?
There are a few local bed and breakfasts, Airbnb options as well as local hotel chains. If you want to make a fun weekend of it and explore the history of the area, you may consider staying in Williamsburg (30 minute drive). I’ve included a list of locations:
Things to do for the weekend
Busch Gardens is always a crowd pleaser. If you’re not into theme parks, this area is overflowing with our country’s history. You can visit Jamestown settlement, Yorktown battlefield, or the charming historic Williamsburg.
How Do I use Zoom? I can’t make it and I want to see the vows.
You don’t need to have a zoom account to watch. Simply click on the link and when prompted, type in the password “celebrate”. I also encourage watching this video if you are a first time user.
